The program in practice
MbA study includes:
Online interactive workshops
2.5-hour online interactive workshops. Each workshop consists of several short theoretical blocks, breakout group discussions, reflection, sharing, and quizzes. Short, interactive workshops at regular intervals have proven to be the most effective for development. Participants leave each workshop with concrete techniques and tools that they are expected to apply in practice.
Video courses
approximately 60-minute post-produced video recordings, serving as expert summaries for each module. Each video is complemented by individual assignments and recommended resources for self-study related to the module’s topics.
AI-based practice and inspiration
alongside the workshops, participants receive ongoing recommendations of books, podcasts, and videos corresponding to the topics covered in each module. After each module, participants can practice their newly acquired skills with an AI sparring partner through role-play scenarios, either in writing or verbally, with subsequent feedback.
Independent assignments between modules
quick implementation of knowledge and skills into practice is crucial. Therefore, the periods between modules are used for assignments that participants carry out directly in their day-to-day work with their teams.
Semester project
an individual assignment focused on applying and reflecting on the content of the first-semester modules. Participants lead a workshop within their team and submit a recording of it to a tutor from Maxman Consultants for feedback and consultation.
Case-study marathon
a full-day workshop where participants train in simulated managerial situations on various topics (from leading team meetings, delivering difficult messages, conflict de-escalation, to conducting performance review meetings, etc.).
Final project
an individual practical management project that participants design and implement within the context of their current work environment. The goal is to introduce, implement, improve, or optimize a specific process from a people management perspective over a quarter. The project should deliver real added value to the company or team.
Final examination
an oral presentation and discussion of the final project with tutors.
Key topics
MBA program modules:
An introduction to the core structure of leading and developing a team. The focus is on key managerial principles, the manager’s role, and common challenges in managerial work. Participants explore different management styles, from directive (hierarchical) to participative (self-managing teams), and learn when and how to apply each style effectively in various situations.
This module focuses on understanding interpersonal differences. Participants learn basic typological principles that serve as a foundation for communicating goals, giving feedback, and motivating team members. By respecting and adapting communication to different personality types within the team, managers can increase collaboration and effectiveness. The module introduces participants to the two-dimensional Social Styles model.
Focuses on managerial work with goals and tasks. Participants receive practical tools for prioritizing, formulating, and distributing objectives and goals. The module also covers basic psychological principles of how people respond to goals, tasks, and performance measurement. Emphasis is placed on both individual and team effectiveness and motivation.
This module addresses both the psychological aspects of giving and receiving feedback and practical techniques that managers can immediately apply—from quick “minute feedback” to comprehensive developmental feedback approaching coaching levels. Participants also learn how to gradually foster a culture of open feedback within their team or organization.
Participants gain immediately applicable tools for developing individuals and teams. The module covers several foundational coaching techniques that are both quick to apply and effective. The goal is not to train professional coaches but to equip managers with tools to integrate coaching and mentoring into everyday people management.
Facilitation skills are essential for managing teams effectively. Mastery of these techniques allows managers to increase productivity in meetings, discussions, and team interactions. Participants learn all key facilitation tools necessary for leading meetings and team interactions.
This module focuses on defining selection criteria and conducting effective interviews with candidates, including behavioral questioning. Participants learn to assess candidates’ potential and motivation and involve their team in the selection process, reducing misalignment and increasing the likelihood of successful hires.
Participants develop effective team collaboration using specific models and tools for team dynamics (e.g., team development stages or functional/disfunctional team models). The module also explores generational differences in the workplace and their impact on collaboration, communication, and expectations. Participants learn to manage team dynamics consciously while considering generational diversity to strengthen team performance and cohesion.
We focus on understanding common causes of demotivation and strategies to prevent them in managerial practice. Participants identify factors influencing intrinsic motivation and performance and understand the individual needs and motivators of team members. Special attention is given to creating psychologically safe environments, including the four domains of psychological safety according to Amy Edmondson, and the manager’s role in fostering openness, learning, and accountability.
The module covers identifying both overt and hidden conflicts, understanding their causes and stakeholder needs, and managing conflicts at different escalation stages. Practical approaches to conflict escalation and de-escalation, moderating conflict conversations, and using EQ to manage relationships and team performance are explored. Participants learn how to set boundaries, expectations, rules, and processes proactively to prevent conflicts while fostering understanding, trust, and collaboration in ongoing conflict resolution.
Participants are introduced to basic principles of change management and typical human reactions to change. The focus is on the manager’s role in communicating change, addressing resistance, and maintaining team engagement during transformation. Participants learn to plan and implement changes that are clear, acceptable, and sustainable in practice.
This module focuses on structuring thoughts for clear and persuasive communication. Participants develop verbal and non-verbal presentation skills and learn to tailor their delivery to different audiences. The goal is professional, compelling communication that engages and influences the audience.
