How to give and receive feedback
Intro
Experience, practice, and reflection as the foundation of development
Feedback is one of the most effective development tools. The ability to give and receive feedback is extremely important in both professional and private life. In this training, we will provide participants with easy-to-use practical techniques that they can immediately begin to apply when giving and receiving feedback. We will look at the psychology of feedback – managing the ego defence mechanisms that prevent us from accepting feedback – and introduce steps for implementing a feedback culture in teams.
Key topics
Completing the training will help participants:
Learn the principles of giving and receiving feedback
Recognise and overcome ego defence mechanisms when receiving feedback
Understand the Radical Candor method and learn how to use it in practice
Build a feedback culture that promotes trust and performance improvement
Analyse and resolve their own individual cases when working with feedback
Training methodology
Interactive, experiential, and practical
- short theoretical inputs
- practice of new techniques
- simulations
- facilitated discussions
- role plays
It is important for us that participants develop real practical skills; therefore, we maintain a ratio of 80/20 between practical experimentation and theoretical input during the training.
Participants have the opportunity to immediately try out and experience the techniques demonstrated and explained by the trainer, and, based on targeted feedback, adjust and gradually improve their performance.
