Assertive communication
Intro
We connect theory with practice to drive lasting change
Assertive behaviour is the basis of healthy and functional relationships. This training focuses on a clear understanding of the principles of assertiveness and their immediate application in practice. Participants will practise techniques that will help them assert their own needs and requirements in a way that respects the rights of others. The programme will show that assertiveness is not only an approach to others, but also to oneself – and that its goal is to build long-term healthy relationships and personal satisfaction.
Key topics
Completing the training will help participants:
Understand assertiveness as a philosophy and key approach to communication
Recognise the difference between assertiveness and other forms of behaviour (passive, aggressive, manipulative)
Use practical assertive communication techniques in everyday situations
Provide assertive feedback and engage in open communication
Resolve communication crises in a way that promotes respect and constructive solutions
Training methodology
Interactive, experiential, and practical
- short theoretical inputs
- practice of new techniques
- simulations
- facilitated discussions
- role plays
It is important for us that participants develop real practical skills; therefore, we maintain a ratio of 70/30 between practical experimentation and theoretical input during the training.
Participants have the opportunity to immediately try out and experience the techniques demonstrated and explained by the trainer, and, based on targeted feedback, adjust and gradually improve their performance.
